Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise network modernization and data center migration initiative. This role will focus on Cisco Catalyst 9300 deployments, Cisco Nexus 5K decommissioning, network cutovers, and Cisco ACI-integrated infrastructure migrations within a production environment.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep experience in Cisco enterprise networking, switch migrations, maintenance-window implementations, and data center operations.Project DetailsRole Type: Contract / Project-BasedLocation: Jersey City, NJ Onsite (Data Center Environment)Duration: Multi-phase migration projectSchedule: Must be available for maintenance windows and after-hours cutovers as requiredResponsibilitiesUpgrade Cisco Catalyst 9300 switches to Cisco-recommended IOS-XE releasesApply standardized C9300 base configurations and templatesMigrate existing port configurations from legacy switches to new Catalyst 9300 hardwarePerform onsite switch replacements and execute maintenance-window cutoversSupport migration of network connections from Cisco Nexus 5K environments to new Catalyst 9300 infrastructureAssist with staging, validation, and deployment of network hardwareCoordinate and execute network migration activities tied to approved Change Requests (CRs)Support Cisco ACI-connected uplink migration activitiesTroubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues during implementation and post-cutover validationWork closely with internal engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and minimal operational impactDocument implementation activities, migration procedures, and technical changesRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on network engineering experienceStrong expertise with:Cisco Catalyst 9300 (CAT9K) switchesCisco Nexus 5K platformsCisco IOS-XECisco ACI environmentsExperience with:Enterprise switch refresh projectsNetwork migrations and cutoversData center networkingConfiguration migration and deploymentMaintenance-window implementationsStrong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking conceptsExperience working within structured change management processesAbility to work onsite and support after-hours maintenance activities when requiredPreferred QualificationsCCNP or CCIE certificationExperience with Cisco FEX environmentsPrevious enterprise data center migration experienceExperience supporting high-availability production networksCompensation: Starting at $125,000 per year, with the potential for a higher offer based on experience, certifications, and technical expertise.VectorUSA is a proud Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled.
