Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client needs, develop appropriate clinical diagnoses, and create targeted treatment plans.

• Providing individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to each client’s unique situation and goals.

• Offering crisis intervention support to clients experiencing acute mental health crises, including the development of action plans and immediate coping strategies.

• Maintaining meticulously accurate and confidential client records, including detailed treatment plans, progress notes, and assessment findings, adhering to ethical and legal standards.

• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate and deliver high-quality, cohesive care for clients.

• Educating clients and their families on mental health issues, available treatment options, and community resources while advocating for their rights and needs throughout the therapeutic process.

• Engaging in continuous professional development by attending workshops, training, and conferences to stay updated with the latest trends and practices in mental health therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will primarily serve a diverse population within the Bakersfield community, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. You will work with clients of varying ages and backgrounds, ensuring that everyone receives personalized attention that reflects their unique experiences and needs. Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) in California.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required; a Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred.

• At least two years of relevant clinical experience, providing therapeutic services to diverse populations.

Preferred Experience\n

While previous clinical experience is preferred, entry-level candidates with relevant education and a strong desire to learn and grow in the mental health field are also encouraged to apply.
