SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Night Shift Lead directs evening operations across multiple production areas to achieve targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role leads people and process improvements using Lean principles, coordinates with day-shift leadership for clear handoffs and aligned priorities and ensures accurate flow of product through the manufacturing process. The Lead supports employee development, maintains workflow efficiency, and models professional, effective communication across the shift.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead the evening shift to guide units through manufacturing, assembly, finishing, and warehousing processes.
• Prepare clear shift reports and communicate priorities for a seamless handoff to the day shift.
• Plan scheduling and staffing to maintain throughput while upholding quality standards.
• Measure performance against KPIs in safety, quality, delivery, and cost; take action on variances.
• Perform quality spot checks throughout production areas; ensure work meets standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation; use ERP/MES for transactions, inventory, and tracking.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area for the team.
• Assist in production work as needed to help the team meet daily goals and maintain workflow continuity.
• Support continuous improvement: sustain lean tools, assist with new equipment/process implementation, and resolve daily production issues.
• Ensure the facility remains safe and secure throughout the shift; use sound judgment to address or report issues immediately, or document them clearly for day-shift follow-up.

• Coach, develop, and evaluate team members per HR policies and employment laws. Manage employee time and attendance, including PTO requests. Participate in interviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions if necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required. • Six months to one year of experience in finishing, painting, or related manufacturing work preferred. • Supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred. • Hands-on knowledge of finishing techniques including sanding, painting, hydrographic application, and curing processes. • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills. • Ability to balance artistry with efficiency and meet production deadlines. • Familiarity with ERP or MES systems a plus. • Problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MEASURES

• Meet objective goals assigned during performance coaching. • Ensure all finishing tasks are completed accurately, on time, and to Weatherby standards. • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and production goals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to acknowledge: • Ability to stand for prolonged periods; walk; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • Routinely lift and/or move up to 55 lbs; push up to 87 lbs; pull up to 130 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a manufacturing and finishing environment and may be exposed to fumes, dust, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in this environment can be loud.
